ORock HighCloud

Open Source IaaS and PaaS with FedRAMP High Security

“FedRAMP Ready” for Federal Workloads

ORock HighCloud is ORock’s new cloud solution for U.S. Federal Government customers. We designed and built this advanced environment specifically for Federal Civilian agencies that require secure data operations at FedRAMP High Impact Levels.

This Government-Only Community Cloud is currently listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace as “FedRAMP Ready” for both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) uses, with FedRAMP authorization anticipated in late 2019.

By employing 421 security controls, ORock HighCloud enables Federal organizations to host mission-critical applications while securely processing, storing, accessing, and controlling sensitive data and computing workloads in the cloud. It incorporates a full suite of enterprise-grade open source solutions (hardened and supported by Red Hat) to minimize vendor lock-in. ORock HighCloud also utilizes a flat-rate billing model with no data egress charges for lower total cost of ownership.

As a result, ORock HighCloud offers levels of security, compliance, cost predictability, and control that are difficult to achieve in other Government-Only Community Cloud environments.

Government and commercial customers that require FedRAMP Moderate authorization for security and compliance purposes should explore ORockCloud.

The ORock HighCloud Difference

Security

ORock HighCloud utilizes ORock’s private, carrier-grade fiber optic backbone network with dedicated connectivity between all points of presence and no upstream cloud service provider (CSP). It is built on HPE hardware featuring HPE’s silicon root of trust (SROT) security and protected by the HPE Supply Chain Responsibility Program. Additional security features include ORock’s use of Red Hat Security Enhanced Linux, FIPS 140-2 encryption, and SOC 2 Type II data centers. Managed services are provided entirely by U.S. citizens in ORock’s U.S.-based Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC).

Compliance

ORock HighCloud is listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace as a “FedRAMP Ready” solution for use by U.S. Federal Government customers only. The “FedRAMP Ready” designation indicates that a government approved third-party assessment organization (3PAO) attests to ORock’s readiness for the FedRAMP Authorization process and that the FedRAMP PMO has reviewed and approved a Readiness Assessment Report (RAR). The RAR documents the cloud service’s capability to meet FedRAMP security requirements, which include 421 individual security controls.

Open Source

As a Red Hat Premier Certified Cloud and Service Provider (CCSP), we built ORock HighCloud from the ground up using Red Hat Security Enhanced Enterprise Linux,  OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. It is the first and only IaaS and PaaS environment based on Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat OpenShift Platform to achieve “FedRAMP Ready” status for FedRAMP High Impact Levels.

Predictable Cost

By controlling its own network and offering customers a generous Committed Information Rate for data transport, ORock is able to provide a simplified, predictable, flat-rate billing model with no charge for data egress. ORock also includes NOC and SOC support at no additional cost to ensure your environment remains secure and operational without additional service fees. This approach minimizes surprise budget overruns and reduces switching/exit costs while lowering total cost of ownership for government agencies.
